Options for Practice

Restorative Yoga

Looking for the ultimate relaxation experience?  Look no further than restorative yoga! This practice is designed to bring your body into optimal comfort using a myriad of props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks, and straps. Using props lets your body to do as little muscular effort as possible, allowing for your mind to focus on the breath and slowing down.

Interested in restorative yoga, but don't have all the props? Don't worry because I can bring them to you! These hour and 15 minute sessions are designed for your optimal relaxation and conclude with a nice long savasana or yoga nidra meditation.

Yin Yoga

I like to think of Yin yoga as a cousin to restorative yoga. Poses are held for a longer duration, but do not use props to support the body. Yin yoga is designed around purposeful compression of the joints of the body. Through durational compression the body is producing more synovial fluid to lubricate joints, encouraging growth of bone density, and reduction of inflammation.

Though it might not be as "comfortable" as restorative yoga, Yin yoga is great for those recovering from injury, those that are highly stressed, or athletes in their off-season. It is also great to work on having a positive mindset in times of discomfort.

Yoga Nidra

Often termed as "sleep yoga," Yoga Nidra is an amazing restorative and meditative practice. Practitioners are guided through a body scan meditation to center our mind on the present moment. As your conscious mind begins to relax, this guided meditation takes you on a journey through the different levels of consciousness. Yoga Nidra is a fully conscious but deeply relaxed state of the mind.

Wake up feeling physically and mentally refreshed, more creative, and more centered with your inner goals. It is a practice for anyone who needs some more relaxation in their life.

Breath Practice

In Sanskrit the traditional term for breathing practices is  Pranayama. Literally translated as "life force control" or "expansion of life force," Pranayama is a very versatile practice that can be easily applied in everyday life. The beauty of breath is that we all have to do it to live, but it is often something that we don't think about. Breath has a powerful impact on our mind and is one of the most important aspects of yoga.

In our private sessions, we can explore a wide range of breathing practices that can help you achieve your relaxation goals. Not only will you be learning Pranayama skills, but also learning the basics of meditation.
